On the 4th November 1979 Iranian students stormed the US embassy in Tehran
30 years ago Iranian students took over the United States embassy in Tehran, and held the 52 Americans inside hostage. It took 444 days for the hostages to be released.
Bahman Kalbasi tells the story of the hostages, their families, the American media coverage of the event and how it led to a complete breakdown in relations between Iran and the United States.
